7 Easy Recipes to Fill Your Jars in a Decorative & Delicious Way

Did you know that Tons of food are wasted every year, simply because they don't look appealing in supermarkets?! Did you pay attention how much food we throw away? It is very sad that this is happening all over the modern world, while we can preserve food in a delicious, easy and decorative way, called a JAR.

    Here are my best 7 recipes of all time. But first Check out what items you need to have at home: 

     

         

    #1 Pickled Green Tomatoes

    Ingredients

    1. Medium sized green tomatoes
    2. Celery (with stalks) and/or Dill
    3. Green Chili pepper
    4. Fine Salt & water
    5. Garlic
    6. Sugar
    7. Jars 

    Method:

    Start by making a cross shaped cut in the tomato about ¾ deep into it. Cut the chili, dill & celery into medium pieces, peel 5 cloves of garlic. In a bowl prepare the water + salt mixture. When you have all the needed water ready add 1 tsp of sugar. Put everything in the jar and add 1 Tbsp of vinegar.

    Close the lid, keep in the sun.  3-4 days, bon appétit!

     

    #2 Pickled Red Pepper

    A delicious pickled red pepper that I grew up eating.

    Ingredients:

    1. Red pepper
    2. Vinegar
    3. Jars
    4. Vegetarian oil

    Method:

    Start by putting the red peppers on the stove directly (or you can put them in the oven), when the pepper is burned from all sides take it of the heat and peel it. Cut every pepper into 4 pieces, put them in the jar, cover with vinegar. When  totally covered with vinegar splash some vegetarian oil on top and close the lid.  Within 2 days it will be ready. super delicious.

     

    #3 Pickled Red Onion

    Ingredients:

    1. Red Onion
    2. Vinegar
    3. Jars
    4. Sugar
    5. Star Anis
    6. Pepper corns

    Method:

    In the jar, put the sugar and vinegar, mix well. The ratio is:

    ¾ Cup of Vinegar =1 Tbsp of Sugar

    Then, add some Star Anis and pepper corns to your liking. Cut the onions into thin wedges and add to the jar. It can be stored in the fridge. Bon appétit.

    #4 Cookies

    Ingredients:

    1. 1 egg yolk
    2. 1/3 Cup of sugar
    3. 1 1/3 Cups of Flour
    4. 1 tsp of Vanilla extract
    5. 100 grams of room temperature butter
    6. Optional: 1Tbsp Coffee powder
    7. pecans
     Method:
    1. Preheat oven to 180C
    2. Mix the butter and sugar, add the vanilla.
    3. Add the egg yolk, flour and mix well.
    4. Add the coffee grain/powder
    5. Make small circle (or any other shape you like)
    6. Top each cookie with a pecan
    7. Put on a Silicone Baking Mat, and in to the oven for 20 minutes.
    8. Let cool.
    9. Store in a jar.

    #5 Pickled Cheese


    ingredients
    1. Cheese
    2. Olive oil
    3. Jars
    4. Chili pepper
    5. rosemary
    6. Garlic

    Method: 

    Begin by cutting the garlic, chili and cheese into a smaller pieces. Into the jar put by order, Cheese, oil, chili, garlic and rosemary. repeat until the jar is full or cheese is over. Can it get any better?

      #6 Pickled Avocado

    Ingredients:
    1. 1/2 cup of Water
    2. 1/2 cup of Vinegar
    3. Jars
    4. Avocados
    5. 1 Tbsp Sugar
    6. 1 tsp of Mustard seeds
    7. Chili sliced
    8. pepper corn
    9. Dill

    Method:

    Mix all ingredients in a saucepan, once in boils, take off heat and let cool, then pour it on your avocados, which are sliced into wages and placed in the jar

    #7 Very Easy Chili oil

    Ingredients:

    1. Dried Chili
    2. Olive Oil
    3. Garlic cloves

    Method:

    Put the whole chili in the jar pour oil on them, add some garlic cloves and close the jar.
